You obviously haven't trained your mother adequately.
Mine scours second-hand bookshops all year round, clutching a list of
the S&A books that she hasn't given me yet. (She also buys them for my brother,
who turned 40 on Saturday!)
Mum often finds hardback copies in excellent condition, and they make
wonderful birthday presents.
