I was wondering if the North American habit of decoratiing the front of your house with lights, plastic Santas and reindeer had percolated to the U.K. I now know that it has. There's a house near mine whose owner goes completely mad at Christmas. I'll post a picture of this fantasy a la Peter Hyland. An idea: why not have a competition of images of the most tasteless decorations? But hold on, now I'm getting judgmental. I have a friend who thinks this house is lovely. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.
