Thanks, Paul, for answering. I am not bothered by the idea that people are reading but not "talking", since I often choose that approach to pick up information from message boards, but don't wish to talk to people I haven't "met"! We do all need to be aware that this is a public site.
I am not originally from Cumbria; Oregon is my life-long home, less a few years away for college & a job or two. My family & I have visited Cumbria twice, staying for a total of three weeks at Mrs. Batty's Bank Ground Farm.
