Wow, there's service! I think that is a good possibility although I don't think I'll indulge in £35 just to check. At least that will give me a chance to Google a bit in case there's some more info around. I don't remember it having a 'subtitle' but at that age I wouldn't have been aware of it. I can't even remember any of the plot except that they had 'adventures' of some sort. Being written 50 years earlier than I'd giessded wouldn't exclude it, my grandfather had regular turnarounds of old books (usually from a fascinating junk shop called Treasure Trove in Cotteridge, Birmingham) and many of them would have been Victorian issues.
