I'm getting in on this fairly late, but have been gone to peddle art.

The holiday decorating of yards relates to the "Outsider" artists decorating their yards with all kinds of decorative items, hand made and purchased. There was a man in the Kansas City area who had about four acres decorated with stuffed animals, ribbons, plastic bottles and other fantastic cast offs. The neighbors sued to have him remove his display. His lawyer presented photos of the neighboring gaudy Christmas yard displays and said, "What is the difference?". The judge threw the case out of court and awarded him damages. This man's work has been recorded in our little museum here in Lucas. It was a case of a person expressing himself with out harming anyone. Like the children in our books, exploring and sailing with no harm to others or themselves. I feel that Titty or Dorothea would or could have had fun decorating a site in a fun and fanciful manner much to the discomfort of some of the others!

Yes, during the holiday season, it would be wonderful and very desirable if we could extend the precepts of toleration and kindness to all throughout the year.

Peace on Earth to All!!!!
