I would agree with Jock - the SA series doesn't go anywhere. Each book can be read on its own with just a little acknowledgement to the previous book at the beginning of some. Also, the Swallows, Amazons and D's don't really grow up much - no doubt because AR was recalling his childhood holidays when he was writing. Who wants to grow up on holiday?
