I think that the only mentions of aging are from (or about) the youngest members. Once one has advanced to Able Seaman, age doesn't seem to matter.
I remember Roger at some point referring to a time when he was 'quite young,' and of course, Bridget moves from 'too young to play' in SA to a crew member who's not too young to be a human sacrifice in SW.
