It is heartening to note that the people in AR's real life could
not match the S&A's sailing excellence but were merely human . . .

The Northern Rivers of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads with
their reed-bounded channels and occassional wider broads are
the perfect place to learn to sail.

We have all make very silly mistakes, but very few of us care
to admit to them. After all John sunk Swallow and disasters for a
sailor don't come much bigger than sinking his own ship.

Michael Green's book The Art of Coarse Sailing is an excellent
account of a less than perfect voyage on the Broads.
