Jock - I believe(could well be wrong of course)that acknowledging is all, especially when it comes to images or the printed word. As long as you don't use more than a minor percentage and don't profit financially as well, you pretty much have impunity.
We were taught this process for when using anything in the classroom and I would think non-profit groups would be much the same as its only the vaguely taxable 'they' are after. If there's no money involved, nobody cares much.
