I have a slightly different version from that given by Robert's mum, possibly the food rationing in 1944 necessitated less fat and sugar than the following: 6oz margarine, 6 oz caster sugar or soft brown, 3 eggs, 4 oz self raising and 4 oz plain flour, 3 level teaspoons caraway seeds. (Apparently no milk required). Mix ingredients as Robert's recipe. 325 F for 1h 45m to 2h.
