I am suprised that none of our steam enthusiasts have said that the only real way to cook bacon & eggs is on a reasonably clean coal shovel through the firehole door of a railway engine.
This really is fast food, but you do need proper bacon with plenty of fat.
Do not make the mistake of putting the blower on - or you will have your food sucked from the shovel.
