I'm in the "specific places" camp, though I don't know Alaska's location. However, Nancy semaphores "P-E-G-G-Y. End of word. K-N-O-W-S. End of word. W-H..." after the list including Alaska. When asked about Alaska, Peggy's "Greenland's better" is coupled with "I know what she means. It's the country up on the fells above the tarn. It's as wild as wild." To me, that sounds as though she's comparing the two places before answering.
