In many societies in the world, old people are respected for their wisdom and/or experience.
It's not the old people that are the problem, it's just the awkward ones that
insist on applying their skills and experience to contemporary problems that are
considered to be dangerous. In the UK they are all bundled into old peoples'
homes and topped-up with tranquillisers. I guess the world is getting a better
place, in the old days awkward people to have around were put to death.
