Early in Bill Bryson's "Made in America" reference is made to the poem Casabianca which the author says is "now remembered chiefly for its opening line:- The boy stood on the burning deck.

Does this poem feature in one of the S & A books?

I do seem to recall one of the children bemoaning they had to either recite or learn it. Picts & Martyrs perhaps? I'm afraid I can't remember.

If it is the same poem, what comes after the first line?

Definitely one for Christina Hardyment's footnotes.
