That reminds me of a story my grandfather told me. He said when his grandfather
was a young man, Indiana was not many years past being the frontier. One day
Great-Great-Granddad stopped in at the settlement store to buy a pound of
shot for his bird gun. The owner's wife scooped up the shot in a pint
container and poured it into a bag.
"Wait a minute," Gramps said, "that's too much shot."
She replied, "Now, Ott, don't go tellin' me my business. You know a pint's
a pound the world around."
