Ed, since you enjoyed "Riddle of the Sands" (and I couldn't imagine any boating-story-readers not enjoying it, although clearly some don't,) then keep an eye open for Sam Llewellyn's "Shadow on the Sands," which is a latter-day sequel to Childers' novel. It's a sequel in the true sense, following on chronologically from where "Riddle" left off, and in my opinion Llewellyn captures both the characters' natures and Childers' writing style very well. You'll enjoy it.
