The clues are all there!
Well yes, a lot of that had crossed my mind- and it does support the long standing AR<->CF idea. Plus, most important, it's almost as much fun as speculating about Beckfoot's plumbing.
But I felt that it was mainly proof of AR's skill as an author that he could operate on two distinct levels, for adult and child readers, and simultaneously flesh out his characters.
