What a good post! As a landsman, like Rick, I am also fascinated by learned discussions about boats and I am eager to learn, because sailing and boats are central to AR's stories. To be honest, I am not so keen to learn about non-AR topics on TarBoard, because no doubt specialist websites exist elsewhere for these topics, and one would naturally go to them to learn more.
