Nancy Blackett (a.k.a The Goblin) does indeed have a self draining cockpit nowadays

The interesting thing about this is that it is very clear from WD that she did not have a self draining cockpit in AR's time, yet when you go on board her the cockpit (and everything else) seems to be exactly as AR describes. So it would have been practicable in the 1930s for her cockpit to be self draining - but clearly it was not thought necessary to arrange for it to do so.

Her cockpit is in fact smaller than the non-draining cockpit I have described in my old, much smaller, Kestrel. It must have been quite a squash for nine of them sailing back from SW.
