Paul,

High water full and change at Walton is midday, so HW springs is around 14.00 and HW Neaps is around 07.00 / 19.00

Walton Town Channel dries at LW Neaps as does the Red Sea.

Quite a good way to make a day of it, if launching from shore, would be to set off early on a neap tide and return in the evening.

However, this is not a good way to get over the Wade. To do that, I would suggest picking a Spring tide weekend, launching from Titchmarsh about half flood and heading West straight away. The snag to this is that you will be fighting the ebb to get back from Flint Island to the Twizzle. But with a reasonable sea breeze it can be done.

It is possible to navigate through behind Mastodon Island on a good spring high water in a small dinghy - I have been a passenger in the expert hands of Bill Wallace-King on such a jaunt.
