For the benefit of those who live within a donkey's roar of the Broads and Secret Water, I'd like to speak up for those of us who literally live on the other side of the planet. These places truly are a foreign country to us, and anything that helps to understand the locations in which the stories are set helps us to enjoy the stories better. Most of us will never ever see these places for ourselves. In this respect, the films of the stories, while being generally pilloried for minor shortcomings, do help us to appreciate the surroundings in which the stories are set.
