What I see comments like this as is more reflective of the person reading- there are those of us who are 'taken away' by what we read- going into those strange worlds, whether they are the Lakes in the 1930's, or Barsoom. Others read for a reflection of what and who they are, and don't like these travels to foreign lands, even the foreign lands of the mind.
