Doesn't it say somewhere what Swallow is designed for? (maybe SA).

SA Chapter 1. "..a sailing dinghy built for sailing on a shallow estuary, where the sands were uncovered at low tide."

Only some 10 miles from the Lake is Morecambe Bay, which the description fits to a T. Moreover the traditional Morecambe Bay dinghy is built, like Swallow, with a deep keel rather than a centreboard.
