The following data on the distribution of TARSCanada members may be of interest. Although Ontario and British Columbia have 80% of memberships (remembering a membership may represent many individuals) the pro-rated numbers put the Northwest Territories well in the lead -- by a factor of ten! Figures that follow are population per TARS membership, in thousands (1991 census, latest membership figures in parentheses):
Northwest Territories 27 (2)
British Columbia 273 (12)
Nova Scotia 320 (1)
Ontario 420 (24)
Saskatchewan 989 (1)
Alberta 1273 (2)
Quebec 6896 (1)

There are no members in Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Manitoba or Yukon.
NWT's lead will become even more pronounced on April 1 when a large chunk separates as the Territory of Nunavut -- though most of the population will still be in the remaining NWT (called by some Restavut).
I hope soon to produce a full North America version of Dave Thewlis' map. Whether I have the technical expertise to post it on TarBoard remains to be seen.
