I am almost sure that D and D are somewhere referred to as 'city' children or 'city dwellers' but I can't find it and it's late at night. Perhaps the over-worked Ed could search on 'city' ?
As well as the London clues which Ed has found, there's:
. . .instead of having to waste the first fortnight of the holidays sweltering in London . . . (PM p 15)
Why would the Ds have to swelter in London unless they lived there?
The Ds find Dixon's Farm so very different from the roar of the traffic in the streets at home (WH p 17)
That sounds like London. Whilst I can't quite compete with Owen as a Londoner, I worked there for 33 years and I have always regarded the Callums as Londoners. Of course it was the London of then and not the London of now.
