Well, I think it does. Too much of time clearly spent doing the things one does in one's own home linked with the word "London" to take it any other way. However, I am of the firm opinion that AR wouldn't have had a moment's unrest simply creating or moving an ice rink in order to add some really top-notch skaters to the NP party, to say nothing of the literary device of making the questionable newcomers suddenly necessary to the expedition.

As to "Londoners then, not Londoners now", I don't know enough about the specifics to comment on that, except to think that somehow AR had to make the D's not fit in at first. What is more likely to offend our group's born leader than being too citified? Yet, at the same time, the D's had to actually fit in quite well once they were accepted, thus not so London-ish as to completely turn away the rest of the children.
