The exchanges between Mike and Andy are interesting (to me at least) because they raise a philosophical question which has cropped up before - ie whether an ardent AR devotee is entitled to object to a disgraceful and objectionable re-enactment of an AR storyline which the objector need never see. What Andy appears to be saying is that, strictly logically, you have no right to object - it won't affect you or damage you in any way.

On the whole I'm with Mike here. I feel that what I can only call 'cultural damage' is done by a derogatory version of AR. No man is an island, and anything done will, maybe way down the line, affect us in some way. If I knew that a really scornful and derogatory version of an AR story was being performed somewhere, I would feel annoyed, and to a certain extent personally demeaned ('damaged' perhaps is too strong a word). 'Freedom' is not an absolute. We have duties to each other.
