I am pretty sure that the dedication was still there in the 1958 "New Edition (Type Re-Set)" because by father gave me a copy for my seventh birthday in 1959 and I remember the dedication "To the Six for whom it was written, in exchange for a pair of slippers" very clearly. As a child, of course, I assumed that the Six were four Swallows and two Amazons. That was how I knew it was real.
