IIRC the first Peter H TarBoard analogy that was St TarBoard's, a boarding school run on strict disciplinarian grounds, a cyber St Trinian's. After we gave St TarBoard's a thorough thrashing, Peter came up with a new analogy, The TarBoard Arms, which I saw as a nested metaphor with TTA representing The Bull and fellow TarBoardistas the rest of the motley crew of Ambridge. ... might best be described as a "firm but fair" leader... Every time He does not stand for any nonsense, but he is also forgiving... he is willing to allow them a second chance if they are truly sorry.
He is also quite perceptive and shrewd, and is not above using elaborate schemes to get to the bottom of a problem...
He is nostalgic, and the way he runs his ... recalls the better elements of the days of...
