I wonder if you can expand on this.

I always found that 'Swallows & Amazons' was the quintsiential work, with my.... I'm not sure what? not 'liking' as I like WDMTGS as much as any... reducing as we get further from The Lake.

I'm not making sense I know. I think what I am trying to gfet across is that I measure all the books in their Swallows & Amozonsness, that is how simmilar are they to the first book. This is in terms of characters, plot line and location.

So, while I love the Coot Club and the Harwich/secret water books they are, to me, not quite 'real' Swallows and Amazons books.

Do you have some local links with these locations or is it something else that draws you to them?
