The elder Swallows had been taken sailing by their father in Falmouth Harbour.

Roger and Titty did not go; they must have stayed ashore with Mother and watched.

The most prominent sight in Falmouth Harbour in the 1920's was the Cutty Sark, still very much afloat, newly restored by Captain Dowman.
