Yes, Peter, I do believe that you're correct. I read in "Arthur Ransome & Captain Flint's Trunk" that the "Peak of Darien" was modelled on Friar's Crag, which is on another lake, Derwentwater. I don't think that anyone disputes that Peel Island is not the sole model for Wildcat Island. I understand that Peel provided the 'Secret Harbour' but much of the rest was modelled on Silver Holme, which has a suitable camping place.
