While Googling around trying to find material on Britain in the 1930's I stumbled across this film clip. It's part of a longer film made by the London Midland and Scottish Railway Company (LMS) showing the work of an engine crew driving an express train out of Euston Station in 1938.

The film shows part of the journey that the D's would have made travelling by train from London to the Lake in the North. Also, through the words spoken by the narrator it provides a tantalising glimpse of social attitudes in the 1930's.
