Just looked at the American AMAZON.COM and saw they were offering for sale the VHS video of "Swallows and Amazons" with Ronald Frasier as Captain Flint. He is not the image I had in my mind for CF.
This is the USA compatable version of a VHS.
The price they quoted was a bit steep - close to $75 US Dollars.
Only ONE was offered. This is near to being a collector's item.
Too bad the Storm at the last night on the island was skipped in the movie, as were other liberties taken with the events we have come to know and love from the book. The music is extremely "childish" to me and by my ears a bit annoying. I know this is supposed to be a book/video for young people, but that music seemed to be ready for a four year old. Gag...
Oh well, just my own personal opinion.
But I am GLAD to have this video from many years back, back when it was more commonly available at a much more reasonable price.
