The elderly Swainsons' knowledge of young Maria Turner, [SD] and that Mrs. Blackett travels from Beckfoot to visit her daughters at their school and leaves from there on her recuperative nordic cruise [PM] leads me to the impression that Beckfoot was the main Turner, and later Blackett, residence. No winter town home, especially if they were in residence for the Great Freeze. [WH]
The Harrogate connection eludes me, though a quick Wiki look-see mentions it was a popular spa town, so perhaps the GA moved there for her health. Perhaps the Turners had some commercial interests [Turner's Special Elixer?] in Harrogate that prospered and allowed them to move to the Lake District mid-19th century.
