I am grateful for Tony's LAKELANDCAM as being a "companion" web site so well related to the TarBoard, because his pictures bring reality to Ransome Country. It is all a part of what people feel when they used to ask AR personally so many times: "Are they real?" To actually see the countryside, the fells, the tarns, the becks, the waterfalls, the lake, the ISLAND, the steam launches, the farm houses, Ground Bank Farm (Holly Howe), Coniston Old Man (Kanchenjunga) - it just reinforces the images that AR drew in my mind with his beautiful descriptive words. A true Ransome fan simply just has to also be a fan of LAKELANDCAM, and see for himself the reality of the world that Ransome described so eloquently for us. The pictures just prove that the countryside looks just like Ransome said it would.
