The New Adlestrop Railway Map is a major find Jock, well done.

I found it when we were discussing Mike Field's and AR's maps of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads and was biding my time waiting for a thread to develop so that I could post a link to it. What is really depressing for me is the realisation how much railway mileage (about 200% of what is now left!) has been ripped up during my lifetime. Having done my bit for UK railway preservation, I'm now currently working with a small group of people to try to save as many minor lines as possible in Poland. If anyone is interested in knowing more (or even lending a hand!) please feel free to e-mail me.

OK, Owen, I admit defeat. Where on earth in the links that I posted, did you find a link to the T&SC? I once read a children's story (fiction, but based on fact) about the construction of the canal. I don't remember much except that part of the tunnel collapsed because someone skimped on the number of brick layers used in constructing the tunnel arch.
