In "Swallows and Amazons", chapter 27, there is stated:
"There were parkins and bath buns and rock cakes..."
For us poor unsophisticated colonial types here in the Americas
who don't understand English (as defined by our friends in the UK)
just what are these three things? I assume they are somewhat
edible, but you never know. Maybe they are at least more edible
than warm beer and cold meat pies.
