Musing on the Engish/Amerecan English debate why don't you call your language "American" to avoid confusion with our language :)
Oh - I the cause of acuracy you will find most beer served in pubs in the UK is at the temperature of the cool cellar in which the barrels are stored. I think this Urban Myth has grown up as the beer is not 'chilled' in some way. Even in the UK larger is generally served 'chilled'. As for cold meat pies, I prefer them hot but still enjoy them cold.
