In PM CH1, Nancy is rattling off the things that need to be done to get ready for the visit by the D's. She mentions the BOATHOUSE as being the place where their boat is to go.

-------

"Billy Lewthwaite can fetch it in Rattletrap tomorrow. Come
on, Peggy. We haven't finished the decorations yet. And we've
got the boathouse to get ready for Scarab. And we didn't finish
Amazon's rigging."

-------

It seems to me that the SCARAB is going to stay at Beckfoot even while the D's are away, probably for the reasons of shipping it elsewhere could be expensive, and maybe where they normally are, no good waters to sail her in, and besides, when back at school, no time for sailing, and the weather is likely too cold for that anyway. So she is to stay at Beckfoot.

I wonder about the capacity of the Beckfoot boathouse. There is AMAZON, the launch, the rowboat. Maybe the rowboat comes out, and winds up upside down on some supports, like the Dixon's boat in WH, but nothing is said as to the disposition of the existing vessels already there at Beckfoot.

The problem of space in the boathouse is temporarily resolved however. As the D's are taken across the lake in PM CH2, they are coming up the river, and...

-------

"Where's the launch?" asked Dick as soon as he could see into
the boathouse.

"Having a new plank put in," said Peggy.

"Good thing, too," said Nancy. "Scarab's going to have her
place. We've got it all ready. Look out for heads while I lower
the mast..."

-------

But when the launch is repaired and returned home, then what happens as to space? No mention of that problem's resolution I can remember.
