I have always thought that both Swallows and Amazons were at the holiday in the wherry during which PD was written. Maybe I am wrong ? I have a vague memory of Capt. Flint being present, so that would make the Amazons presence certain. My take on Swallow in PD is that the most inventive of the S&A team is Titty, and she would fight quite hard for Swallow to be the boat they took on the adventure.
