Re; your precarious enjoyment, I can relate to that. As a kid(12-15) I used to spend some holidays at a farm that took in groups of kids for horse-related activities, and when there I had my 'own' horse. I didn't know who rode her during term nor in the holidays when I wasn't there, and didn't actually care. While I was there she was 'my' horse which I was responsible for and who I adored. Away from her I got on with my regular life but often dreamed about what we'd do when back together.I was lucky I suppose in that she wasn't sold during my times there as other horses were.
