Ah HAH ! My fishing around regarding the Beckfoot plumbing
actually got a bite finally...

In these twelve books, the word "bathroom" is used four times.

Two references to Dick using the bathroom for a darkroom:

BS CH9

"Taking photographs," said Dick. "The Admiral's letting
me turn the bathroom into a dark room. I say, I'll take a
photograph of the Death and Glory. We're going to be here till...

BS CH22

So, while Dorothea wrote, Dick and Tom had a pleasant
messy time in Mrs. Barrable's bathroom and the Death and
Glories cleaned out their cabin, scrubbed their decks,...

In ML CH13

They are being shown the place they are to stay as "guests" of ML:

She pulled Susan by the hand and
showed her a Chinese bathroom, with a huge earthenware water kong
and a dipper for dipping out the water. "Missee Lee think of
evellything," she said, and pointed out a small packet with a printed
label, "Wright's Coal Tar Soap" and three or four big sponges on a
bamboo rack above a row of towels.

In PM CH5

They are frantically trying to get Beckfoot ready to receive the GA:

... Coming... COMING! Jibbooms and bobstays! We've
only got four hours left..." She was gone and back again in a
moment with three glass vases for the flowers. "Water in the
bathroom," she said. "I've got to keep an eye on Cook and the
stores."

That one reference to the "bathroom" is really a puzzle, since there
is no VERB, just "Water in the bathroom." That could have two
meanings: (1) If you are looking for water for the vases of flowers, you
can find it in the bathroom. (2) The water container in the bathroom
needs to be filled for the GA. The (1) meaning suggests there is
a fresh water supply piped into the bathroom. The (2) meaning
says exactly the opposite. That is therefore a very ambiguous
non-sentence.

Apparently the only two things done in the bathroom are:
(1) develop photographs
(2) wash/bathe
