I see the plumber advertises that he fixes electric bells too, so (PM) when the GA says that a man is needed to fix the bell he could do the job.
But re ‘compulsive cleaning’ of the houseboat, Timothy is a typical bachelor so tends to let domestic chores slide. Earlier on the D’s spend an hour or so washing up the dishes he has not got round to doing. Note I said ‘typical bachelor’ not ‘confirmed bachelor’, which was a “Private Eye” euphemism for homosexual!
