Blue Water implies a long fetch, so the Minch is close to being Blue, the Channel is definitely and positively not.
Thanks for the help with the sentence. I am sick of my wife complaining about my English. So, I bought a grammar book from Barnes and Noble. I am slowly working through the exercises, and examining each sentence for structure. I have not got far, but the subject is fascinating and complicated in English.
