A couple of practical problems associated with celestial navigation at sea have been mentioned in passing but left me wondering how they are resolved. Can any one tell me how you take a sighting when the deck is gooing up and down and side to side? And assuming the sun is visible how you take a sighting of it without blinding yourself?
