It's too hot here to start Winter Holiday, so I started over with Swallows and Amazons. While Susan boils the kettle, Titty says something about cuckoos changing their tune in June. Since cuckoos aren't particularly a Southern California bird, I wondered what she was talking about. (We do have plenty of parrots, though!)
