Very similar in NZ. High school students graduating from 7th Form(aged 17/18) have a day of general fun and reminiscence followed by an assembly where the brightest achievers get their prizes. But no graduation. NZ saves the caps & gowns for tertiary graduations as they are scholars as opposed to students. I have to say when I see videos of preschoolers in some countries 'graduating' with cap/gown and the whole paraphernalia, I'm glad of it.
