A visit has been arranged for TARS to a potash mine in East Cleveland, Thursday 6 May.

In true Pigeon Post-style and in the spirit of adventure encouraged by Arthur Ransome, a visit has been organised late afternoon on Thursday 6 May to an operational mine between Saltburn and Whitby on the north east coast of England.

The mine is a large operational potash mine, which extends under the North Sea. It is riddled with galleries and levels big enough for large vehicles to drive through.

The number of places is limited, and for "juniors" the minimum age requirement of the mine is 14 years. Any TARS who may be interested in attending this event should contact Paul Flint as soon as possible at:

"Moorstones", Ruebury Lane, Osmotherley, North Yorkshire, DL6 3BG. Or e-mail him at flint@rmplc.co.uk
