I think I agree with you that it is not a Peter Duck story. My problem with GN is that it is the last book and I feek it should have been on the lake. It is probably the book I read least and I feel that it ends the seires with a whimper rather than a bang.
Perhaps if Coots in the North had been finished things would have been different?
